Montenique
Montenique is a fanon nation located somewhere along the west coast of Africa. It has been plagued by constant warfare since its freedom from the French Republic sometime in the late 50's, including an active civil war. It possesses a sizable population of outmodes thanks to a major robotics disposal industry, with some forming a subculture of "freedmen" robots thanks to oversights and loopholes in local law.
Characteristics[edit | edit source]
The nation has a varied landscape, including dense, jungle-like forests, vast, flat savannas as well as some tall mountain ranges. Most of the population lives in poverty near to the rivers and waterways weaving through the country, with only the capital of New Lyons being shown as having some kind of wealth present.
Warfare plagues most of the country, with villages and towns on the boundary between the two warring factions often put under fire from both sides as they fight to keep control.
The two sides fighting for control are the Government and the Monteniquan People's Front. The Government attempts to gain the upper hand by purchasing mercenaries from the West, while the People's Front appears to be receiving large amounts of aid from the Soviet Union.
