Rhody is a fanon Nandroid in the story Rhody's Merce-Nanny Chronicles where she works as a mercenary within the African nation of Montenique, fighting for the local government against Communist rebels.[3] She acts as the marksman and unofficial squad leader of the 51st Mechanical Company's Juliett Squad.

Personality[edit source]
Rhody is a laid-back, though occasionally strict Nandroid outmode. Protective of her "stock-ness," she is one of the few outmodes in the 51st that has never gone for any sort of upgrade to her chassis, remaining adamant that her Nandroid components will be completely sufficient all the way until the end of her duty to the Company. Around her squadmates she's usually laid-back, at least within confines of a safehouse or camp, switching to professionalism once out in the field. This doesn't stop her from making a few quips or jokes here and there.
Relationships[edit source]
Rhody is very good friends with the rest of the outmodes in her squad, especially the squad's heavy gunner, Rhino. The rest of the camp's opinions of her, and vice versa are all over the place, ranging from friendliness to contempt. Nobody really hates her from within her unit, or the human unit within her camp. She is also extremely close to the only other Nandroid she knows about in Montenique, Rory. The two have quickly become friends after initial skepticism from either side.

Pre-Africa[edit source]
Rhody was initially the family Nandroid of the Moore family, made up of Dominic Moore, the father, Marcy Moore, the mother, and Kenneth "Kenny" Moore, the young son. This family however did not last long after her arrival, as a domestic dispute over claims of Dominic cheating on his wife caused the two to divorce, with Dominic claiming both his son and Rhody and taking both of them along to his new job in Montenique.[4]
Pre-Mercenary[edit source]
Rhody settled into life in a third-world country pretty quickly, mostly focusing on taking care of Kenny and ensuring his proper development despite the area. She didn't want him to grow up developmentally diminished. However, as years dragged on, and promises of finally getting out by her father kept coming and going, Kenny grew more and more restless. This would all eventually culminate in Kenny mysteriously disappearing, leaving Rhody and Dominic behind in Montenique. The father continued his work for the mercenary company, often bringing Rhody along into camp, and occasionally teaching her basics of combat "just in case."[5]
Mercenary[edit source]
After an unfortunate incident[5] leaving Rhody as the only remaining member of the family in Montenique, a clause in her owner's contract would put her under ownership of the mercenary group, with the Company's command immediately pressing her into training and service. Since then, Rhody has been serving as the designated marksman for Juliett Squad of the Company's robotic detachment, the 51st Mechanical Company.
Behind the scenes[edit source]
The idea for Rhody was first conceived of in the LEAF discord server, 2022/10/01. The first chapter of her story was published a week later, on the 2022/10/08.
Trivia[edit source]
- Rhody is often shown to be partaking in "Zaps," standard button cell batteries used as a sort of robotic narcotic shown to have calming or pleasing effects on the user.[1] It is used in the same way as the real world tobacco product "snus," by being placed under the upper lip.
- Rhody's personal weapon is the Fabrique Nationale FN FAL, chambered in 7.62x51 NATO.[3]
